Cherry Blossom Festival

There are 500 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees in the grounds of Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine. While admiring the cherry blossoms, you can enjoy an evening of gagaku, bugaku, and kyogen, as well as Kusaka no Maki, outdoor tea ceremony, and taiko drum performances.

Kariyado Sakura Festival

Yabusame Festival

Yabusame is a martial art in which the performers shoot at a target from a running horse. The Yabusame Festival at Asama Taisha Shrine is said to have originated when Minamoto no Yoritomo led his generals to the shrine and offered them a Yabusame performance when he held a hunting party at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The Yabusame ceremony begins at around 5:15 p.m. on the 00th.
