Wakutamaike Pond is a spring located within the grounds of Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine. It is designated as a special natural monument by the government and is also one of the 1 best waters of the Heisei era.

This is where underground water from Mt. Fuji springs out, and the water temperature is said to be 12 to 13 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
In the past, there was a custom of purifying oneself at a purification shrine before climbing Mount Fuji. (Currently, it is not possible to enter Wakutama Pond without permission.)
