Kariyado Gebazakura is one of the oldest mountain cherry trees in Japan, over 800 years old, and is counted among the top five cherry trees in Japan. Its scientific name is Akameshirobanayamazakura. It has been designated a special natural monument by the government.

It is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo tied his horse here when he went on the Fuji hunting expedition, and it is also known as "Komadome no Sakura."

The Kariyado Sakura Festival is held every April.
