Ide's Great Palace (Karyado's Gebazakura)
The Ide family home is said to be where Minamoto no Yoritomo set up camp during his Makigari hunting expeditions at Fuji during the Kamakura period. The nearby Shimoumazakura cherry tree at Kariyado is a nationally designated special natural monument, and is said to be the place where vassals who visited Yoritomo dismounted from their horses. It is also said that Yoritomo tied up his horse here, and so the tree is also known as the "Komadome Sakura" (Cherry Blossoms at the End of the Road). The "Komamon Gate and Nagaya" built at the end of the Edo period are designated as cultural properties by the city. The Komamon gate is in the formal style used for castle gates, and the Nagaya is said to be a type of building typical of high-status farmhouses during the Edo period.
The Ide family's Korean gate and row house have been designated as important landscape structures by Fujinomiya City.
The mansion and grounds are open to the public every year during the Kariyado Sakura Festival, which is held in April.
