Founded 90 years ago, the first floor of the restaurant reuses pillars and beams from the early Meiji era, and with a view of Mt. Fuji from the restaurant, it has a relaxed atmosphere. They are particular about using carefully selected buckwheat flour and soup stock, and use fresh ingredients such as soba noodles made with spring water from Mt. Fuji, fish and sakura shrimp caught in Suruga Bay, and more.
Founded in 1931, we have been nestled in the bosom of the sacred Mt. Fuji for over 80 years. The harmony of the pure water from Mt. Fuji, the special buckwheat flour, and the broth creates a special taste and texture. Our restaurant, which has been loved and cultivated by everyone as Soba no Shihokawa, has further developed into the source of the name Shunshoku Wakenshi (cocoro)…
"I want to serve seasonal vegetables, and freshly picked vegetables!" says the chef, who cultivates the fields himself. "I want you to know how delicious the ingredients are," so the dishes served are all simple, but new potatoes, new onions, and spinach are so delicious that you'll think, "I didn't know they were this delicious!"
This restaurant is directly managed by a fishmonger. We use fresh ingredients from Suruga Bay to serve dishes that everyone will enjoy. Please try our popular "Sakuyadon" which was created in commemoration of the 1200th anniversary of the Asama Taisha Shrine. We also have a variety of set meals available.
The sacred Mt. Fuji has fascinated many people since ancient times. From its peak you can see the ridgeline all the way to Suruga Bay, making it one of the most beautiful places in the world. We take pride in this view, and we hope that all our guests will be satisfied with the view of Mt. Fuji from every room.
