Mount Fuji 888 (Triple Eight)
The number "8" is considered auspicious because it symbolizes prosperity and good fortune. During the climbing season, the Fujinomiya route welcomes climbers who adhere to safe and reliable rules.
This year, on August 8th, 2026, a day with three "8"s, we will be commemorating 888 by taking photos with SNS-style frames and distributing limited-edition stickers in front of the Ikeda-kan at the 8th station of the Fujinomiya route. This will serve as a call for people to climb Mt. Fuji while respecting the rules and manners, as well as promoting Fujinomiya City.
Additionally, limited edition stickers will be distributed at mountain huts other than Ikeda-kan at the 8th station (while supplies last). Please ask the staff at the mountain huts for details.
Main venue: In front of Ikeda-kan at the 8th station
- At 8:08 AM, we will take a commemorative photo with the mountain hut staff and climbers in front of the Ikeda-kan hut at the 8th station.
- Photo session using social media-style frames (staff will assist with taking photos)
- Distribution of limited edition stickers

The number eight has long been considered an auspicious number. The circumambulation of the summit of Mount Fuji is called "ohachimeguri," but originally it was called "ohachimeguri" because the eight peaks of Mount Fuji were likened to the eight-petaled lotus flower.
Ikeda-kan, located at the eighth station, also hopes to benefit from the auspicious number eight. Therefore, to commemorate August 8th, 2016, we have prepared 880 original stickers for the eighth station!

*The event will be canceled in the following cases:*
- As of noon on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, if rain or severe weather is expected on August 8, 2026
- When explanatory information regarding the volcanic status of Mt. Fuji (temporary), a crater area warning (level 3), or an eruption warning (level 4, evacuation for the elderly, etc.) is issued.
- When a Nankai Trough Earthquake Emergency Information (Warning of a Megathrust Earthquake) is issued
- In addition, if there is a risk of danger to the event due to the possibility of a disaster occurring, etc.
