Sacred Fire Festival (47th Festival, 8)
The sacred fire is kindled at the Okumiya shrine of Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine at the top of Mount Fuji. The highlight of this festival is when the sacred fire is lit in a portable shrine, which is carried around in a parade and rises vigorously up the Kanda River next to the shrine.
To enjoy the festival's climax, the "Kanda River Ascent," from the best seats, we recommend the box seats!
Box seating tickets are on sale at the tourist information counter from Monday, July 6th. (2,000 yen per seat)
